About

Peter Kazander was born in 1955 in one of the most important European logistics locations, Rotterdam. His career began practically right outside the city – in the Deep Sea sector. This was followed by ten years as a short sea transport manager in Rotterdam.

In the early 1990s he moved to Germany and worked in leading positions in consulting, sales and marketing at a Munich IT provider.

From 2003 to 2015 as COO and since October 2015 as Managing Director and CEO, he led the team at EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress GmbH in Munich for over 20 years. During this time, he developed the LogiMAT trade fair in Stuttgart from a modest local event into the world’s leading trade fair for intralogistics solutions and process management.

Since 2013, Kazander was also Managing Director of Logistics Exhibitions GmbH, a subsidiary of EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress-GmbH, Munich and Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH & Co. KG. and in this position, he was responsible for the international development of the LogiMAT trade fairs in China, Southeast Asia and India.

My honorary title: Mr. LogiMAT

When was this honorary title used for the first time

In March 2011 Martin Schrüfer, the editor-in-Chief of the trade magazine LT MANAGER did a six page Interview with me. Martin used this wording for the first time on the title of this high level magazine.

Since then, not only other journalists at home and abroad, but also numerous exhibitors and partners of LogiMAT have used this honorary title to describe me and my passion for this trade fair, which I managed for around 20 years.

By the way… in this interview I clearly stated that at that time I did not believe that LogiMAT would grow to be bigger that 5 halls with in total 60,000 sqm. 🙂

As early as 2013 (70,000 sqm), it became clear that I was wrong with this assessment. In 2019, I was able to hand over the LogiMAT in Stuttgart to my successor Michael Ruchty with all 10 halls fully occupied and a total area of ​​more than 120,000 square meters.
